We're hard at work on our next artifact: Instrumimic, a desktop application that transforms the tedious process of multi-sampling into an automated, streamlined workflow.
The Challenge We're Solving
If you've ever tried to sample a hardware instrument to create a virtual version, you know the pain: hours of recording individual notes at different velocities, organizing samples, creating mappings, and ensuring everything plays back naturally. It's a time-consuming process that often keeps you from actually making music.
Our Solution
Instrumimic automates the entire sampling workflow:
- MIDI-Controlled Recording - Automatically trigger notes and capture audio from your hardware
- Intelligent Multi-Sampling - Record multiple velocity layers and articulations with minimal input
- Smart Mapping - Let the software handle the complex task of mapping samples across your keyboard
- Export Ready - Output to common sampler formats for immediate use in your DAW
Development Progress
We're currently in active development, refining the core sampling engine and testing with a variety of instruments. The interface is taking shape, and early results are promising - what used to take hours can now be accomplished in minutes.
Expected Release
We're targeting a release in December 2025. As we get closer to launch, we'll share more details, screenshots, and perhaps some early access opportunities.
Stay tuned for more transmissions from the workshop.
